Türkiye Accepts New TAYFUN Block-2 Batch and Two HÜRKUŞ-II Trainers

Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence says the Land Forces have accepted a further batch of TAYFUN Block-2 ballistic missiles into inventory, while the Air Force has accepted two HÜRKUŞ-II basic trainers. The announcement came in the ministry’s weekly press briefing on 5 November 2026, delivered by spokesman Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk.
What the ministry said
Aktürk stated that inspection and acceptance activities had been completed for “various quantities” (muhtelif miktarda) of TAYFUN Block-2 missiles for the Land Forces Command and for two HÜRKUŞ-II aircraft for the Air Force Command, and that both had entered the inventory.
The ministry did not disclose how many missiles were in this batch, which units will receive them, or any deployment locations.
TAYFUN Block-2: another 2026 batch
TAYFUN is a ROKETSAN surface-to-surface ballistic missile. According to earlier Ministry of National Defence briefings cited in the same reporting chain, Block-2 first entered inventory on 20 May 2026, with further batches reported in June, August and on 25 September 2026. Today’s acceptance is therefore another production batch in an ongoing serial flow — not a first introduction of the variant.
The ministry has not officially disclosed the Block-2’s range or warhead mass in these briefings.
Two more HÜRKUŞ-II trainers
HÜRKUŞ-II is the TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace) basic trainer. The Air Force accepted two additional aircraft under the same 5 November briefing. No further details on the training syllabus or fleet total were given in the quoted statement.
Why it matters for MENA and Africa readers
ROKETSAN and TUSAŞ products already appear in African and Middle Eastern modernisation debates — from guided rockets and air defence to trainers and light attack. This briefing confirms continued domestic intake of TAYFUN Block-2 and HÜRKUŞ-II in Türkiye itself. It does not announce an export contract.
