Nurol Makina’s NMS-L 4×4 light tactical vehicle has entered service with Turkish security forces under the name YETİŞEN, the surname of the major it honours. According to Anadolu Agency on 4 November, the vehicle was developed for reconnaissance, patrolling, personnel transport and carrying weapon systems. The product now also appears as “YETİŞEN 4×4” on Nurol Makina’s official website. For light protected mobility, a key attribute is that, according to AA, YETİŞEN can be carried slung beneath CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters.

Helicopter lift, scalable armour

According to technical information released by Nurol Makina, YETİŞEN offers scalable ballistic protection to the NATO STANAG 4569 standard, meaning the protection level can be configured to the threat the user expects. Fitted with a fully independent suspension system, run-flat tyres and a central tyre inflation system, the vehicle can carry up to five personnel and is designed to operate between -32°C and +55°C.

According to its off-road figures, the vehicle can ford water 0.9 metres deep and cross a 0.9-metre trench, climb a 70 percent gradient and a 40 percent side slope, and surmount a 0.5-metre vertical obstacle.

Mission kit and naming line

Optional equipment includes a manual open turret, an autonomous fire support system, front and rear night-vision driver assistance cameras, a four-camera 360-degree driver assistance system, automatic fire suppression and explosion suppression systems for the engine compartment and crew cabin, and a siren and public address system.

The vehicle bears the name of Infantry Commando Major Murat Kemal Yetişen, who was killed on 5 February 2025 in the Claw-Lock (Pençe-Kilit) operation area in northern Iraq. Nurol Makina had previously named its EJDER YALÇIN 4×4 after Yalçın Dizdaroğlu, the head of the special operations branch in Hakkari who was killed on 19 October 2012.

The NMS-L was first unveiled at the IDEF 2023 exhibition and was displayed under the YETİŞEN name at SAHA 2026. According to AA, Nurol Makina has also developed a new-generation electric configuration of the vehicle. It was not disclosed which agency has taken the vehicle into its inventory, how many units were delivered, or the contract value.
