The Eurofighter consortium has listed a possible second batch of 24 new-build Typhoons for Türkiye among its sales opportunities — an outlook slide, not a firm order. The figure appeared on 4 November 2026 at the International Fighter Conference (Defense IQ) in Munich, in material attributed by FlightGlobal to Cristiano Montrucchio, Eurofighter’s Chief Engineering & Operations Officer. No value or delivery timeline was attached to the second-batch line.

Separately, work on the 20 Typhoons Türkiye already ordered in October 2025 continues in the UK and partner nations. That production status is not new: BAE Systems said manufacturing was already underway on 25 March 2026 and repeated the point in its H1 2026 results in late July. The new element this week is the Munich slide’s potential 24-aircraft second batch.

What the Munich slide showed

According to FlightGlobal’s account of the consortium presentation, the opportunity list included:

  • Türkiye — 2nd batch: 24 aircraft (potential; not an order)
  • Saudi Arabia — 2nd batch: 54 aircraft (potential)
  • Austria: 36 aircraft (potential)
  • About 150 further potential aircraft, for a total opportunity of more than 200

Programme totals cited on the same material: 10 customers, 769 ordered and 619 delivered. The consortium has not issued a matching press release for the second-batch Türkiye line.

Trade press commentary (including Aviation Week’s Tony Osborne) has described the 24 as separate from any used Qatari or Omani jets under discussion. That distinction is press reporting, not an official Eurofighter or Turkish confirmation.

The 20-jet order already under contract

BAE Systems stated on 25 March 2026 that manufacturing of the new aircraft for Türkiye “is already underway in the UK and across the Eurofighter partner nations, with the first aircraft scheduled to be delivered in 2030.” Final assembly is at Warton, Lancashire. BAE also holds a UK government training and support contract covering spares, support equipment, pilot and engineer training, high-fidelity simulators, electronic-warfare capabilities and technical support for the initial three years from entry into service, with the RAF to train 10 Turkish instructor pilots and about 100 maintenance trainers.

Some secondary reports have floated a 6 / 8 / 6 delivery split across 2030–2032. That split does not appear in the BAE statements cited above and should be treated as unverified.

Gulf Typhoon operators and Qatar talks

Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman already operate Typhoons, which is why a Turkish second batch sits naturally in MENA air-power coverage. Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence said on 22 October 2026 that work on procuring Typhoons from Qatar continues — a track that is separate from any new-build second batch on the Munich slide.

Verified and unverified

  • Verified (consortium slide / FlightGlobal attribution, 4 November 2026): Türkiye listed for a potential 24-aircraft 2nd batch; Saudi 2nd batch 54; Austria 36; >200 total opportunity; 10 customers / 769 ordered / 619 delivered.
  • Verified (BAE Systems, 25 March 2026; H1 results July 2026): manufacturing of the 20 ordered Turkish Typhoons underway; first delivery scheduled 2030; Warton final assembly; UK training/support package as above.
  • Verified (MSB, 22 October 2026): work on procuring Typhoons from Qatar continues.
  • Not an order: the 24-jet second batch has no announced value, schedule or Turkish confirmation.
  • Unverified / press-only: 6/8/6 delivery split; claim that the 24 are formally separate from used Qatari/Omani jets.
